This course will cover the basics of spinning wool using a drop spindle.
If you're new to spinning and seeking a cost-effective way to begin, this course is perfect for you. Thanks to the GoArt SRC grant program, all materials needed for this class are provided at no cost. You will receive a drop spindle and prepared wool, which you can keep. There will be plenty of wool for you to take home and continue practicing with.
The course will cover the following topics:
Different types of prepared fiber
Drafting techniques
Using a drop spindle
Twist direction
This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by GO ART!
